Hypnosis is a state of mind that helps you work with the subconscious mind: the part of the mind involved in habits, behaviors, emotions, automatic responses, and learned patterns.
Many people consciously know what they want to change, but still feel stuck in old patterns. Hypnotherapy helps create a calmer, more receptive state where the mind can begin responding in new ways.
During hypnosis, you are not asleep, unconscious, or under the hypnotist’s control. Hypnosis is collaborative. You’ll remain aware, involved, and able to respond throughout the session.
Every hypnosis session is customized to the client. The first session typically begins with an intake conversation so I can best understand your situation, goals, and challenges. This also gives you time to ask questions and get comfortable with the process.
After the intake, you’ll sit in a comfortable chair and be guided into hypnosis. Most clients experience this as peaceful and relaxing. While the experience is different for everyone, you’ll remain aware throughout the session.
From there, I’ll guide you through a process based on your specific goals, using the information we discussed during the intake. At the end of the session, most clients feel clear-headed, refreshed, and ready to continue with their day. When helpful, I may also provide resources or exercises to reinforce the work we did together.
Yes, at the end of the session, most clients feel clear-headed, refreshed, and ready to continue with their day. You may even feel more alert than you did before coming in.
Yes! Hypnosis is an evidence based, clinically proven treatment that can dramatically change your life. Over the past 15 years, I’ve helped thousands of clients make major life changes. Feel free to explore past client testimonials to see for yourself.
It’s understandable to be concerned or skeptical about hypnosis. In media, it’s often portrayed as something akin to mind control or magic. In real life, hypnosis is a relaxing, collaborative, and therapeutic state of mind, similar to guided meditation or a “flow state”. You’ll remain aware and be able to recall the session afterwards. Hypnosis is safe, effective, and is a natural state of mind. It’s my hope that media portrayals won’t deter those who could benefit from this powerful, life changing tool. If you have more questions, I’d be happy to answer them on a free consultation call.
Yes! Most of my clients who are seeking to quit smoking never touch a cigarette or vape again after a single hypnosis session. On the rare occasion a client picks up the habit again, or has cravings again- I offer subsequent anti-smoking sessions at no additional cost as part of a lifetime service guarantee. That’s how confident I am that hypnosis can help you to become a permanent non-smoker.
Generally, I work with breaking bad habits, building healthy behaviors, overcoming negative emotions, and helping clients feel more in control of their lives. A full list of my most common services can be found here. If you’re not seeing your concern listed on the website and you’re curious about how hypnosis could help you, I’d be happy to answer any questions during a consultation call which you can schedule here.
